Tifa Lockhart

Tifa is empathic, motherly, intuitive, and reserved, both out of being observant and for being emotionally shy. Tifa identifies the feelings of others, offering sanctuary and protection for her teammates. While looking out for others, she rarely discusses her own feelings: when asked, she will either express surprise, or quickly change the subject. Tifa considers all options and takes in all information before acting, (best seen when she does not speak up about Cloud's confused past until she is certain of her own recollection of events), and encourages others to practice this same restraint and think things through first. Tifa can and does fight to defend herself, often preferring to so as not to get others involved. While normally reserved, Tifa still shows aggression at times, seen when beating up Rakesh, interrogating Don Corneo, standing up to Scarlet after being provoked. Tifa has a stubborn pride that comes from her Nibelheim upbringing, but has low self-confidence and is overly self-critical of her faults, always pushing herself to do better.

Tifa is a bartender at Mr. Manson's club and also plays the role of a bouncer.

Tifa's techniques are showcased in her limit breaks. Among the most powerful are Dolphin Blow, an uppercut punch that summons a dolphin to attack with her, and Meteor Strike, where she lifts the enemy (of any size, including a giant mech or one of the planet's colossal Weapon monsters) over her head with a single arm and leaps into the air before throwing them to the floor. However, neither technique appears outside of gameplay, suggesting her true strength is not as supernatural. Tifa also draws strength from her chi, and can materialize her chi in the form of an orb that damages any foe in contact. Tifa is skilled with financial planning, allowing her to save enough to become Seventh Heaven's proprietor while also paying off a large debt, and to handle the finances for Barret's Avalanche cell. Tifa is a savvy businesswoman, as her food and cocktails made Seventh Heaven famous in the slums, her skill for quick-witted banter served her well as a calisthenics teacher and later as a star bartender, and her looks helped her pull in customers both at Sector 8 Steamed Buns and the bar. When preparing cocktails, she performs tricks with the shaker, her showmanship used to garner higher tips from patrons.

After the disbanding of the team with Cloud, Barret and Yuffie there was not much more for Tifa to look forward to. Cloud couldn't keep away from his quest of ending Sephiroth's life, eventually placing a toll on Tifa, their relationship and the lifestyle she wanted to have. Wanting to get away and start anew she head out and found Metro City while seeking work in the only thing she knew best, which was no other than bartending. Arriving at Metro City she saw a whole new life ahead of herself, so she went to a local bar to get a bartending job and ended up also as the bouncer for the pub. The need of money is never ending in life, and so needing extra cash she asked her boss for extra work.... Of course he offered her a side job she can do for bonus pay!
