Samus Aran

Despite Samus being identified as a bounty hunter, Nintendo later admitted that the occupation was initially chosen because they did not know what a bounty hunter was and simply liked the title, seeing her as an "altruistic" and "motherly" adventurer.

Samus is a hero of few words, and a fearsome warrior. She remains quiet and brooding in spite of her great accomplishments, and has devoted her life to maintaining peace in the galaxy. Her main opponents are the Space Pirates - especially Ridley, who was personally responsible for the death of her mother. Despite her tragic origins, Samus has been shown to have unparalleled willpower and resourcefulness, succeeding where thousands failed and stopping at nothing to save the galaxy from any threat that may arise. Such is Samus' determination that she was even willing to sacrifice herself to prevent the spread of the body-snatching X Parasites. Samus Aran is slender and light-skinned with a muscular physique under the armor, though her superhuman abilities may be accountable to her muscle/bone density given her hybrid genetics and augmentations. Her hair color is blonde, her eye color is blue with a green tinge (fully green in Other M), and she appears to be Caucasian. Samus typically wears her blond hair in a modified ponytail with a red hairband, with a lock on either side. The exact hairstyle, however, can vary from game to game.

Samus Aran's infusion with Chozo DNA (later revealed to be a combination of both Thoha and Mawkin DNA), as well as her warrior training since her childhood, has turned her into a superior athlete. Her training began at the age of three and continued up until she was fourteen years old. As a result of the Chozo's influence, Samus is capable of running and jumping heights far past normal human ability, as well as surviving falls that would otherwise kill an ordinary human. Samus is also more adaptive to foreign alien environments that normal humans cannot survive in, such as the majority of Zebes and Elysia. Samus also demonstrates good sharpshooting skills. She is an excellent marksman, with an incredible aim, and is tremendously deadly in combat. She exhibits prodigious puzzle-solving and hacking skills. She also possesses a lithe figure that allows her to crawl through tunnels and gaps that would normally require the usage of the Morph Ball. All of these are, of course, augmented further by her Power Suit. If need be, Samus will engage in melee combat, often using kicks and wrestling tactics to weaken her foe for a point-blank shot.

Custom built for Samus by the Federated Shipyards at Aliehs III, it contains a mobile energy recharge system and microfactories designed to produce ammunition. A sophisticated onboard computer stores mission data collected in the field for future reference.

Originally this auto-charging pistol stuns enemies with charged shots, however this version has been highly modified and advanced with the ability to fire like a pulse weapon would. It fired EMC burst capable of damaging physcial targets through burns and shutting down most electrical targets such as robots, consoles, machines and so on.

The arm cannon is Samus' primary offensive weapon, built into the right arm of the Power Suit. This arm cannon in particular is detatchable for use outside of the power suit. the Arm Cannon is upgradeable with a variety of weapons, including the Wave Beam, Ice Beam, and many others.

K-2L is a planet and Earth colony on which Samus Aran lived at the age of 3, along with her parents, Rodney and Virginia Aran. K-2L was an important planet for the Galactic Federation, as it had large reserves of Afloraltite. A Rabbit-Squirrel named Pyonchi lived on this planet, and is the only known native creature. The actual planet its neighboring Zebes.
